Easter Eggs

In addition to Reed's baptism, we were also lucky enough to have all of our family in town for Easter weekend as well. We have not been able to spend Easter with family since we moved to the East Coast 8 years ago, so it was special treat.

Reed's baptism wasn't until Saturday afternoon so we spent the morning dying Easter eggs.

After Reed's baptism we came home and a enjoyed dinner of some massive hamburgers. Seriously...look at that thing.

After our massive meal we had an equally massive Easter egg hunt. Sam was in charge of buying the candy and eggs. I later realized my "kid-at-heart" husband might have been the wrong person for this assignment when he came home with enough candy for the entire neighborhood and over 300 plastic eggs to fill. Needless to say their were no complaints from the kids.

We let the kids out one at a time starting with the youngest. That meant Ruby was the lucky one to start. She took full advantage of her head start and gathered more eggs than she could carry.

She ran from egg to egg saying, "another one? another one?"

The kids were in heaven with the ridiculous number of eggs to find.

Max enjoying his spoils. There was definitely no fighting over who got the most after the eggs were all collected. There were more sweets than any of them could eat.

In the midst of the Easter egg festivities Reed also received his final and most prized birthday gift--his own set of scriptures from Nana and Papa. He was thrilled with them as well as the $50 reward he received from them for finishing the Book of Mormon.

I wish I had more pictures of all of our visitors, but in all the madness my camera was never as handy as I needed it to be. This picture doesn't really do the situation justice, but let's just say it was a full house--we were so lucky. It was a whirlwind for sure, but for people who don't get to see family often enough every moment was a blessing.

Yes, the kids had a great time hunting for eggs. I love the new banner photo. Ruby's smile is not your typical two year old smile.
